Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! This was the first year I celebrated Christmas away from my family and I thought it would be harder than it actually was. I thought I’d be all mopey and sad, but I put my big girl pants on and enjoyed myself.
So, I’ve seen these types of videos all over YouTube and thought I’d want to join the party… but over here, of course, on my blog. I was lucky enough to get some pretty awesome gifts although I asked for nothing this year. So, without further ado, here’s what I got for Christmas this year.
Gift Cards Win! You can never go wrong with a gift card. This year, I got three and, now that I think of it, they’re all to restaurants. Haha.
Selfie Stick Yup. Self explanatory. I’ve always wanted one because my arms just aren’t long enough. :).
A CD Do people even buy those anymore? YES! I got Leon Bridges’ debut album, ‘Coming Home’. I love every song on there and you should definitely check out here.
Makeup I’ve had my eyes on Urban Decay’s Naked palette for ever! I finally got it! Not so secretly, I want the 2nd one as well. You know, if anyone is reading… I do have a birthday rapidly approaching.
A Hover board I know everyone is probably sick of these things, but I think they are so cool and now I own one. I would have never imagined that. (P.S. It’s definitely as cool as I thought it was. Hopefully it doesn’t explode. I’ve heard some have the tendency of doing that.)
A few of the other things I got include the cutest mug I’ve ever seen which doubles as a cereal and soup cup (pictures coming soon, trust) accompanied with yummy hot chocolate, a crown (because my highness is respected, lol), a scarf and some nail polish.
On the flip side of all the receiving, this year was the year I decided to give back to my community. My good-good and I collaborated and donated a heap of goods to our local women’s shelter. We raided the store and got household necessities like cleaning products, personal care products and even items for women with children. It was satisfying to give back, especially during the holiday when people need it the most. I hope these goods get to those who need them just in time. I’d definitely love to continue doing deeds like this.
Special thanks to my good-good for being a great sport about it.
