New Year Resolutions, 2016

Let me join everyone in documenting the things that I expect from myself in the year 2016. New Year’s Day and my birthday are consecutive so this list doubles as a list of resolutions and what I want from myself as I start another year of my life.

Read, read, read.

I’ve always loved to and I need to make more time for it. I hope to read more books this year than I’ve read last year, which means I’ll have to read at least six books. I definitely think I can do that. Maybe even surpass that goal.

Be more punctual!

Um, yea. Being on time is just… I don’t know. It’s not that I can’t do it, it’s just that most of the time I don’t. That goes hand in hand with my habit of procrastination. This year, I will kick both bad habits.

Actively practice my religion.

Yup. Pretty self explanatory. Good things come to those who pray.

Publish a post 2-3 times a week.

I started this blog about five months ago, I’m started to get into the groove of it and want to up the ante a bit. I think you all would enjoy that, too, right?

Learn a new language.

American Sign Language to be exact. I’ve been wanting to learn ASL since high school. Now is the time! Even if  I am not 100% or even 75% fluent by the end of the year, I want to make the effort.

Travel to 3 new places.

Traveling has always been on the list of things for me to do. Now that I’m employed full time, I hope to take myself to new places. Often. If all goes well, I’ll be in Cali and Mexico this year. All I’ll have to do is choose one more place and that isn’t hard to do because, well, I never go anywhere.

Kick my healthy habits up a notch… or five.

Yea. For sure. I’ve put on a few pounds in the past couple of months. Before things get out of hand, I need to get back to being on my grind.

Do at least one thing that I’ve been afraid to do.

My sister wants to go skydiving and I think that’s the perfect opportunity to scare the $#!+ out of myself.

Continue to build my relationship with boo.

Going on four years. Everyday is an opportunity to grow.

Have [more] fun!

I’m so boring. Like, so boring. I hope to let loose and have more fun this year. I’m always so laid back and “conservative” and in a shell. I want to have good times and lots of them.

What are some of your resolutions? Ten may seem like a lot, and it is but I want to note that I’m not looking to 100% complete every single thing on the list. They are goals that I have for myself this year and on. Everyday I strive to grow more.

Let’s continue the conversation below and if you enjoyed the article, share it! Thanks!

  2. Those are great goals. So far, I only have one goal which is joint goal with my husband. We want to take a real vacation or getaway to somewhere out of the state since we rarely travel. I’m hoping one of my close, close friends can participate in making that goal happen since travel is also on her list. *wink wink*
