This post is gonna be short and sweet (I like my puns intended).I love fruit. *Oprah voice*. So much so that I think I’m going to self proclaim myself a fruittie (like foodie, but for fruit).
I’ve been following Fully Raw Kristina for a long time now and admire the fact that her diet is 100% raw. Breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner all consist of 100% raw foods, which means she doesn’t eat meat or dairy either. And to my knowledge, no sushi even though that’s raw. She’s been living this lifestyle for over 10 years and while I’ve always loved fruits and veggies, I have been inspired to add more to my diet. But sometimes I get so bored with fruit and veggie selections that are in my area. It’s either they’re too expensive, not fresh looking, or simply not available for purchase. That said, I want to share with you a list of fruit that I would LOVE to try and for fun, what I think they would taste like. If you know where I can find them, definitely leave it in the comments section below.
Fig Are figs something similar to bananas? If I had to guess, they’re very sweet and sticky with a starchy, banana like consistency. Was I close? Let me know.
Jackfruit Yes, it looks strange but I’ve heard a fully ripened jackfruit smells like juicy fruit gum so I imagine it to be just that; a juicy, sweet fruit. The little pods give me mango vibes, but I love mango and I wouldn’t want anything to taste better than it, especially if it isn’t easily accessible.
Dragonfruit Doesn’t that looks so delicious and juicy? I could be completely wrong but in my mind, this has the consistency of a cantaloupe and the taste of something like a raspberry.
Papaya I’ve seen papaya before but I don’t remember ever tasting it. This is another fruit that I image to have a honeydew melon type of consistency with a bit of crunch and a lot of sweetness.
Gooseberry These definitely put the goose in gooseberry. They have to be the baby of a watermelon and a grape, don’t you agree? They’d probably taste just like that too.
Mangosteen Mango…steen.I love mangoes so this is definitely on my must try list. While it may not taste anything like a mango, I still think it would be yummy and the little seeds/pods remind of that of a jackfruit. However, I imagine it to be a sweet and sour/tangy (maybe because of the white color) similar to a quenepe aka Spanish lime aka limoncillo.
