There has to be at least one person in your life that’s natural and if you’re stumped on what to get them, here are a few guidelines. NOTE: These presents are based on my personal preference and some of what I hear worked well for some of my curl friends. A Hot Head by Thermal Hair Care
This is a portable deep conditioning cap that works wonders for natural hair. When conditioning hair, especially high porosity hair, a little heat can play a major roll in making sure you locs are luscious and moisturized. Having a portable cap to wear while deep conditioning is so clutch, especially if you have other chores to do. It allows you to walk around the house (or elsewhere) while your hair is marinating underneath.
Belle Butter’s Whipped Shea Butter
Anything you buy from Belle Butter is suitable for anyone in your life. Actually! I’ve been using her premium whipped shea butter for over 5 years and it has become my staple product. I swear your hair will LOVE this butter. It’s a perfect blend of shea butter and good-for-your-hair-and-skin oils. You have the option of choosing a scent and, to be honest, I haven’t found a scent that I haven’t liked; Warm vanilla, raspberry champagne, coconut, and orange and vertivert have been a few that I’ve tried. The scents are seasonal so there’s always something new to try. And lastly, the customer service is AMAZING. Tasha is so passionate about her product that she will do whatever she can to make sure you’re satisfied.
Lush’s Hot Oil Treatment
I used these a few times before they revamped and released more in the collection. I sweat by them. This is a great stocking stuffer and goes very well with the deep conditioning cap. You can choose a treatment based on what you think your hair needs. Depending on the length, thickness, and density of your hair, each treatment can last for two uses. They leave your hair very moisturized and soft and make it super easy for me to detangle. I would highly recommend.
Grace Eleyea’s Satin-lined Cap
This is a bad hair day lifesaver. These cute beanies are lines with satin to keep your hair from drying out. Throw this on to wear to sleep, run errands, or as a protective style and no one has to know what’s going on underneath.
Grace Eleyea’s Satin Pillowcase
I personally don’t have one of these because I use a bonnet or a satin scarf, but this is a classy little gift any natural will love. It has the same effect as the satin-lined cap in that it helps your hair remain moisturized (satin isn’t thirsty for moisture like cotton or other materials are).
These are just a few that I have come up with. If you’d like to know more, let me know and I can do another list with a list of products that every kinky-coily girl should try. Maybe even in video form? Hmmm. Drop a note below.
